Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG
In its standard configuration, the new power plant makes for 525 PS (386 kW / 518 bhp) - same as on the old 6.3 liter unit.
But this new engine is far more efficient than that large, naturally-aspirated 6.3 liter, shaving 2.8 liters/100 km off of its fuel-economy rating - now down to 9.8 liters/100 km for the 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8.
And with that new AMG performance package, the new E63 with 557 PS does the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in just 4.2 seconds and has an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The AMG Driver's Package gets that top speed bumped up to 300 km/h (186 mph) if you do your homework and take a driving class at the AMG Driving Academy. The new 2012 E63 AMG is priced at €105,791 and €108,409 for the sedan and wagon variants, respectively, in Germany.
